Events

We often hold events or workshops which are designed to help support volunteer led groups or small grassroots organisations who are just starting out on the process of saving their local buildings.

Many of our training activities are also appropriate for those already experienced with heritage projects but who wish to refresh their knowledge.

London Historic Buildings Trust is a recognised CPD provider with the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC).

Book Now: 'Building Futures' Training

Building Futures is LHBT’s FREE in-person training programme, aimed at those who are new to developing heritage projects, including individuals, community or Friends groups, or anyone else who is interested in undertaking a project to save or promote a part of London’s heritage.

The training is focused on helping attendees understand what makes for a strong, sustainable regeneration project with outcomes for both people and heritage. Led by LHBT and experienced heritage project consultant, Sophia Mirchandani, from the Cultural Consulting Network, the training covers key project development elements such as viability, good governance, the stages and timescales of developing and delivering a heritage project, and advice on making strong funding applications, including to some of the UK’s largest funders of heritage, The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Architectural Heritage Fund.

LHBT takes ‘Building Futures’ on the road, and moves around London, bringing our experience, advice and support directly to local communities. Each training will cover the same overarching content, but is tailored to location with bespoke local case studies and speakers to maximise shared learning opportunities and networking for attendees.

Please see below for the upcoming locations of our next events, and who they are aimed at. Please note, that registration is required as spaces are limited.
