We’re delighted to share that Oculus Management and London Historic Buildings Trust (LHBT) have been appointed as Capital Project Managers for the remarkable St George the Martyr Church, Queen Square — a Grade II* listed Hawksmoor church in the heart of London.
“It’s a real honour to join the team that is leading the next chapter of St George the Martyr. ‘Securing the Legacy’ is a critical project not only for the Church its heritage and its future, but also for the surrounding communities. The project’s ambitions strongly resonate with both myself and my colleagues at LHBT and Oculus Management, where facilitating impactful, sustainable futures for Heritage at Risk is the cornerstone of our work.” – Hannah Southgate (LHBT).
Over the next four years, we’ll be working closely with the St George the Martyr community to:
• Protect and restore the iconic Hawksmoor ceiling, ensuring this extraordinary piece of London’s heritage can be enjoyed for generations to come.
• Champion community and sustainability, strengthening the church’s role as a welcoming space for worshippers, neighbours, workers and visitors.
• Re-energise the building as a vibrant resource for the local area — a place where church, history, culture and community come together.
This project represents heritage stewardship at its best: honouring the past while investing in a resilient future. We’re proud to play our part and can’t wait to get started. Follow along as we help St George the Martyr continue its story.
